Vocal EQ
Freq ranges
100 hz - lowest end of vocal warmth. (high pass everything below 100 hz)
200 hz - more warmth - boosting this always saturates. (female voices don't have 100, 200 is where the body lies. )
300 to 500 hz - Boxy & room sound in this frequency range. (Never boost. good for cutting when vocals sound boxy. )
600 hz to 1000hx - no character in the vocal - boosting this risky and risks sounding boxy.
1500 hz to 2500 hz - Presence of the vocals. Vocal will pop out. Nasally sounding when very high, but extremely important region.
2500 hz to 3500 hz - Nasaliness of the vocal. Sinus cavity of the vocal. Cutting this means you Lose presence but also lose nasal tone.
4000hz - Too much 4k never sounds good. Freq range is important. Too little 4k takes away the intelligibility. Took 4k is harshness.
6000hz - clarity of the vocal. Clean and more intelligible. Clarity increase here then. Cutting 4k and 6k thickens a vocal up.
7000hz and (4k to according to Waves audio) 10k is sibilence. Top end of the vocal.
10 to 16k is the top end of the vocal - sizzle.
17k to 20k - Airry qualities of the vocals.
